Advantages of an In-house Millwork Shop

In the design and construction of luxury residential interiors, architectural millwork, also known as bespoke or custom millwork, often stands as the most prominent design element, present in nearly every room of the home. This encompasses case goods, trims, mouldings, baseboards, stair rails, doors, and wall paneling, all meticulously designed by architects and interior designers for a specific interior or exterior space, and then crafted to perfection.

Operating its own 15,000-square foot, state-of-the-art facility in Long Island City under the name American Woods & Veneers, Liebhaber Company distinguishes itself as an architectural millwork firm in several ways.

First, we begin our process by purchasing the logs themselves, slicing them into veneer leaves, and creating our own flitches, which we meticulously keep in order, so the specific patterns and colors that a design professional has specified can be maintained. Our expertise continues through the fabrication and precise joinery of the millwork pieces, which at times feature glass and metal decorative details. We finish the millwork using premier imported paint and finishes.

Second, as Liebhaber Company is also a general contracting firm, we seamlessly coordinate millwork production with our team of in-house carpenters, which ensures precise installation.

And third, as we fabricate our millwork for other general contractors, we know how best to draft shop drawings, so that others can assemble and install our finished pieces with the same accuracy and precision that our in-house team is accustomed to.

This comprehensive and integrated approach allows Liebhaber Company to better manage the costs, production schedules, raw materials, finishes, and overall quality of our millwork. This is highly advantageous for design professionals and, just as importantly, their clients.
