Andrew Liebhaber founded Liebhaber Company, a luxury-focused general contractor and construction manager, in 1993. For more than thirty years, he has built exclusively in Manhattan, on its most demanding residential and hospitality projects.

At fourteen, he convinced his local home center to open a trade account in his name, sourcing materials for neighborhood projects. He set that work aside for a degree in accounting, became a Certified Public Accountant, and returned to building several years later.

The heart of the firm’s practice is high-end co-op and condominium renovation in the city’s most prestigious buildings, including vertical and horizontal combinations of up to four floors, and townhouses from twenty-thousand-square-foot renovations to expansions involving complex structural and earthwork. Andrew is as comfortable with the latest AV and lighting-control systems as with restoring hundred-year-old hardware, and has built alongside New York’s leading architects and specialists. The finished work spans the city’s most ambitious residences, homes with winter gardens, climate-controlled wine rooms, and bespoke fur closets.

He built a self-performing team of master craftspeople and in 2015 acquired American Woods & Veneers, the architectural millwork shop he operates. A CPA’s rigor, a tradesperson’s instincts, in-house craft, and three decades of Manhattan knowledge are the working definition of a master builder. A member of Brick & Wonder and The NY Alliance, Andrew remains directly involved.
